Collaboration on: 1) infection prevention in dentistry, in particular in orthodontic offices, 2) role of stem cells in orthodontia :: Dipartimento di Medicina e Chirurgia, Centro di Odontoiatria (Prof. A. Di Blasio)
Italy
Collaborator; Research field: since 1989, I have conducted research into oxidative modifications/damage in biological models ranging from lipoproteins to yeast, endothelial cells, ex vivo animal hearts. I have more recently been collaborating on the ESA-funded ARIES/SCD research project investigating the cellular and molecular effects of spaceflight and simulated microgravity-dependent stress on mesenchymal stem cells. The aim is to exploit the advantages of modelled microgravity in the field of some ground biotechnological applications of industrial relevance (autologous stem-cell therapy, tissue engineering, increased productivity of pharmaceutical products). :: NMRone Lab (P.I: dr. Bradamante Silvia)
Italy
Collaborator; current role: infection control coordination; since 2007, I am a speaker at courses and workshops for the dental team occupational safety, cross- infection control, clinical contact surface disinfection, dental instrument processing and monitoring, and DUWL disinfection in accordance with Italian regulations and EC directives. My other interests include the role of stem cells in orthodontic treatments and high-quality processing procedures for medical devices specific for stem cell therapy in dentistry.
