Effect of relative age on diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder in children: a nationwide study in Taiwan.

Relative age, as an indicator of neurocognitive maturity, is a crucial contributor to the risk of being diagnosed with ASD among children and adolescents. Our findings highlight the importance of considering the age of a child within a grade when diagnosing ASD.
