After the publication of Katsanos's metaanalyses, the uncertainty regarding PTX device safety in peripheral interventions in patients mainly without end-stage renal insufficiency was initially considerable. The present study for the first time investigates the potential long-term mortality risk of dialysis patients following PTX device treatment of PAD. In contrast to a recent meta-analysis, this real-world study could show a better survival after PTX treatment in comparison to uncoated devices.
