Aside from the higher antimicrobial resistance against cephalosporins and fluoroquinolones, the findings of this study revealed that carbapenems are facing increased rates of antimicrobial resistance and are associated with substantial morbidity, prolonged hospitalization times, and increased healthcare expenses.
