Do systemic steroids increase the risk of ocular complication in uveitis patients? Focus on a Italian referral center.

Systemic steroids treatment in uveitis patients does not seem to increase the risk of iatrogenic complications such as cataract and glaucoma. In our series, increasing age appears to be the main risk factor for cataract and glaucoma development. Key points • Cataract, ocular hypertension, and glaucoma are the most common iatrogenic complications. • Systemic steroids can be safely used in uveitis patients.
