The binuclear title compound, [Fe 2 (C 28 H 48 N 2 O 2 Si 4 )(CO) 6 ], consists of two central iron(0) atoms, each of them surrounded by a cyclo-penta-dienone moiety and three carbonyl ligands in a three-legged piano-stool shape. Furthermore, the bis-(cyclo-penta-dienone) ligand acts as a bridge between the two metal atoms.
