Formally diagnosed OSA undergoing treatment, increased the likelihood of having AMD with RPD, but not overall AMD compared with those who were not undergoing treatment. Risk-based OSA questionnaires showed no difference in risk for all AMD or AMD with RPD. Future research, using formal sleep studies could further explore the potential role of nocturnal hypoxia in AMD.
