Afferent venous perfusion of the fetal liver: umbilical and portal blood-flow volumes in fetuses born small-for-gestational age.

In fetuses born small-for-gestational age, the ratio of the blood-flow volume in the umbilical vein to that in the portal vein decreased to a greater extent during pregnancy, and reached a lower nadir in the third trimester, compared with fetuses born adequate-for-gestational age.
