Although isotretinoin is a widely known recommended treatment option for keratosis pilaris, there are currently no studies that describe a detailed regimen or treatment course for KP. Based on previous studies involving other hyperkeratotic disorders, the adolescent patient was started on a dose of .53 mg/kg/day of isotretinoin and received a final cumulative dose of 137.14kg/mg with resolution of her symptoms. As this is a similar regimen to that used for acne, this is a safe and effective treatment option for patients with KP.
