Nutritional status at diagnosis is prognostic for pharyngeal cancer patients: a retrospective study.

We found that multiple nutrition markers, including BMI, hemoglobin, albumin, PNI, NRI and HALP score, are important predictors for pharyngeal cancers. This is the first report confirming the prognostic effect of the HALP score for HNCs. Nutritional status at diagnosis should be given more attention in pharyngeal cancer patients.
