This systemic approach is a feasible option to ensure the safe placement of trocar cannulas and prevent inadvertent perfusion during small-gauge PPV in RRD eyes with extensive CD, SCF, and hypotony, without the need for a draining sclerotomy, a longer trocar, or a sharp clearing of the cannula tip.
