Both submucous resection and medial flap coblation turbinoplasty are effective in relieving nasal obstruction and enabling optimal volume reduction with preservation of function of the inferior turbinate. Coblation turbinoplasty has superior outcomes in terms of better healing and less postoperative pain and crusting.
