SABA over-prescription represents a major public health concern in SA. Healthcare providers and policymakers will need to work together to promote educational initiatives aimed at patients, pharmacists and physicians, align clinical practices with the latest evidence-based recommendations, improve access to affordable medications and regulate SABA purchase without prescription.
