The prevalence of chronic kidney disease in Samoans living in Auckland, New Zealand.

We report the high prevalence of CKD (15.9%-33.4%) in Samoans living in New Zealand. This reveals an urgent need for further studies to develop strategies to prevent or reduce the development of kidney failure and premature death.
