trans -Bis(2,2'-di-pyridyl-amine-κ 2 N , N ')-bis-(1,1,3,3-tetra-cyano-2-eth-oxy-propenido-κ N )copper(II).

The title compound, [Cu(C 9 H 5 N 4 O) 2 (C 10 H 9 N 3 ) 2 ], was synthesized solvothermally. The complex exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The Cu II atom is located on an inversion centre. The distorted octahedral CuN 6 coordination sphere is composed of bidentate 2,2'-dipyrid-ylamine in the equatorial sites while the axial sites are occupied by 1,1,3,3-tetra-cyano-2-eth-oxy-propenide ligands. In the crystal, N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding results in chains parallel to [010].
