Al-MIL-101-NH 2 , which was previously regarded as being inactive as a photocatalyst, produces hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) via O 2 reduction under visible-light irradiation, accompanied by efficient suppression of undesired H 2 O 2 decomposition. The low-coordination Lewis acid sites in trimetric Al-oxo clusters are crucial for the electron transfer to O 2 .
