Coordination polymers (CPs) display great potential for the development of highly active photocatalysts. Herein, we report the fabrication of a highly crystalline CP, [Ag 2 BTT] n (BTT=benzene-1,2,4,5-tetrathiol). The crystal structure of [Ag 2 BTT] n was resolved and its performance for photocatalytic oxidation of thioanisole was explored. [Ag 2 BTT] n is highly active and selective for the photo-oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides under mild conditions, that is, in air, at room temperature and in the absence of a sacrificial reagent, co-catalyst or redox mediator.
