SRC was the most commonly encountered renal damage in patients with SSc. We recommend biopsy for patients undergoing treatment for SRC who have persistent renal injury with proteinuria, regardless of hematuria. Rheumatologists in Eastern countries should be aware of aristolochic acid nephropathy.
