Risks of HCC and clinical events were not significantly different between spontaneous and NUC-induced HBsAg seroclearance. Nonetheless, the annual risk of HCC exceeds the recommended cut-off for HCC surveillance even after HBsAg seroclearance, suggesting that continued HCC surveillance is required.
