Our findings suggest that choroidal thickness in the submacular and peripapillary area is significantly reduced in thalassemic patients, compared to healthy individuals. Choroidal thinning in beta-thalassemia possibly reflects the effect of chronic anemia and underlying hemodynamic changes on choroidal tissue.
