The overall prevalence of AD in children in Greenland is high and has likely increased over the past 20 years. The point prevalence was highest in the youngest children indicating early onset of disease. Inuit descent, family atopy predisposition and having a higher socioeconomic status (based on parental educational level and housing) increased the risk of AD. Insight into possible Inuit-specific genetic predisposition is needed.
