New onset of diabetes in a child infected with COVID-19: a case report.

We report an interesting case of a child with COVID-19 infection precipitating presentation with new onset diabetes. Due to refractory acidosis, starting oral bicarbonate treatment after 2 days improved acidosis and tachypnea in the patient. The patient's medical team suggest close biochemical monitoring, prescribing enoxaparin for high level of D-dimer, and ordering oral bicarbonate acidosis persists.
