The complete mitochondrial genome of the 'Zacatuche' Volcano rabbit (Romerolagus diazi), an endemic and endangered species from the Volcanic Belt of Central Mexico.

This is the first genomic resource developed for R. diazi and it represents a tool to improve our understanding about the ecology and evolutionary biology of this iconic and endangered species.
