The results of this study indicate that the subxiphoid approach reduced procedure time and length of hospital stay in the early period, while there was no significant difference between the techniques in terms of complications or mortality. Based on these findings, we conclude that surgical outcomes were as successful with the subxiphoid approach as with conventional video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery.
