In this study we evaluated blood pressure changes after surgery for renal tumors. We found that 19% of the patients developed de novo hypertension 6 months after surgery. We feel that patients who are scheduled to undergo kidney cancer surgery should be informed of these findings and have their blood pressure closely monitored after the operation.
