Preparing the Ocular Surface for a Boston Keratoprosthesis Type 1 Through En Bloc Minor Salivary Gland Transplantation and Mucous Membrane Grafting in End-Stage Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.

Sight restoration options are limited in patients with end-stage SJS with a keratinized ocular surface, aqueous and mucin deficiency, corneal opacification, and limbal stem cell deficiency. This case demonstrates successful ocular surface rehabilitation and vision restoration in such a patient through a multifaceted approach that resulted in successful implantation and retention of a Boston type 1 keratoprosthesis.
