Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Flares During Dialysis in Patients With Endstage Renal Disease.

We read with great interest the recent article by Kim and colleagues in The Journal of Rheumatology on disease flares in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with endstage renal disease (ESRD) on dialysis. 1 The authors reached the conclusion that continued follow-up and appropriate therapy, including immunosuppressants, should be considered for patients with SLE receiving dialysis.
