The Markup on Orthopaedic Services: An Analysis of 2014-2019 Medicare Data and the Potential for Surprise Billing.

Our analysis demonstrated low and variable CCRs for commonly performed orthopaedic services in the U.S. These findings serve to inform and help improve related price transparency policies. Additionally, our analysis encourages increased efforts at preventing these low CCRs from limiting care in vulnerable populations.
