Thus, Becium grandiflorum exhibits antihyperglycemic activity in STZ-induced diabetic mice, and shows improvement in oral glucose tolerance and body weight, which justifies the claimed use of the plant in ameliorating diabetes mellitus in Ethiopian folk medicine.
