Weekend catch-up sleep is associated with reduced metabolic derangements in Korean adults.

Short weekday sleep and insufficient weekend catch-up sleep were independently associated with an increased risk for all metabolic derangements, except hypertension. Individuals who did not make up sleep on the weekend were more likely to be obese and have type 2 diabetes or hypercholesterolemia.
