In situ DRIFTS measurements of an Fe/BZY-Ru cathode catalyst in an electrolysis cell using a CsH 2 PO 4 /SiP 2 O 7 electrolyte were carried out in a mixed N 2 -H 2 gas flow under polarization. The formation of N 2 H x species was confirmed under polarization, and an associative mechanism in the electrochemical NRR process was verified.
