In conclusion, patients with ADPKD have significantly higher levels of IL-6, IL-8, MCP-1, TNF-α and IFN-γ compared to healthy individuals. These findings underline that inflammation may play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of ADPKD and may be a potential target, both as biomarkers and for therapeutic interventions.
