Exceptionally long sensitization of CM and CMi nociceptors by rhNGF, uncovered by suprathreshold electrical sinusoidal stimulation, indicates a signal transduction-independent long-lasting hyperexcitability of C-nociceptors that clinically may contribute to rhNGF-maintained chronic inflammatory pain.
