Effect of Prior Antibiotic Treatment on Blood Culture in an Outpatient Department of General Internal Medicine: A Retrospective Case-Control Analysis.

There was a negative correlation between prior antibiotic use and positive blood cultures in the general internal medicine outpatient department. Therefore, physicians should interpret the negative results of blood cultures performed after the administration of antibiotics with care.
