Healthy aging is associated with decreased cerebrovascular reactivity, measured by changes in BOLD response to visual stimulation. The BOLD amplitude appears to be a robust measurement in healthy adults and presymptomatic D-CAA mutation carriers, but not in symptomatic D-CAA mutation carriers.
