In this work, we investigate the wettability of ZrO 2 nanotubes (ZrNT) synthesized via electrochemical anodization of zirconium. The ZrNT surface shows super-hydrophilic behavior while the octadecylphosphonic acid (C 18 H 37 PO(OH) 2 ) modified surface shows super-hydrophobic behavior. We demonstrate that the wetting properties are independent of ZrO 2 nanotube geometry and length.
