Probing metal-dependent G-quadruplexes using the intrinsic fluorescence of DNA.

K + enhanced the intrinsic fluorescence of a series of G-quadruplex DNAs, while Pb 2+ quenched the fluorescence. The metals showed interesting quadruplex binding kinetics with various DNA sequences.
