Effect of radioactivity outside the field of view on image quality of dedicated breast positron emission tomography: preliminary phantom and clinical studies.

FDG uptake in the myocardium affected dbPET images of the left breast, especially near the chest wall. Further, the effect of RI outside the FOV, such as in the myocardium, must be considered in the quantitative evaluation of breast cancer using dbPET.
