The title compound, C 12 H 10 N 2 O 2 , shows a nearly planar conformation. The crystal structure is sustained by hydrogen bonds between the NH and the carbonyl O function of the 4-oxo-1,4-di-hydro-pyridine ring of the mol-ecules, forming infinite chains along the b- axis direction.
