Complexes α-Dy(depma) 3 Cl 3 (α-DyCl), β-Dy(depma) 3 Cl 3 (β-DyCl) and β-Dy(depma) 3 Br 3 (β-DyBr) (depma = 9-diethylphosphono-methylanthracene) are reported. α-DyCl and β-DyCl are polymorphs showing distinct magnetic dynamics with energy barriers of 32.3 K and 66.6 K. They also show distinct luminescence properties with emission peaks at 487 nm and 530 nm, respectively.
