Both MASLD and DM shared similar disease mechanisms, and affected the disease development and progression in a bidirectional manner. The high prevalence and the cross-link between the two disorders raise clinical issues from awareness, screening, risk stratification, optimal referral, to appropriate management for primary care providers.
