The emerging body of evidence supporting PMIs within the field of occupational therapy suggests they are feasible and have the potential to improve child and parent outcomes when delivered to children with DD. Further research is needed to clarify PMIs' components, unify the identification terminology, and test the efficacy of different types of PMIs for specific populations.
