Participant families have preferences for approaches to address the effects of racism on their children's health. Pediatricians should understand the importance of identity safety and approach their discussions with cultural humility, which includes self-reflection, empathy, active listening, and flexible negotiation. Above all, pediatricians need to create a safe environment for appropriate discussion of these issues.
