This is the first study to evaluate the association between peri-operative changes in the NLR and the outcomes of patients with UTUC who underwent radical nephroureterectomy. Patients with elevated NLRs at both time points experienced considerably worse outcomes. Further research should explore whether increases in the NLR during long-term follow-up could indicate impending disease recurrence.
