Relation between anticholinergic burden and cognitive impairment: Results from the Monzino 80-plus population-based study.

There are clear relations between anticholinergic load and reduced cognitive performance, while the association with dementia remains uncertain. For primary care and geriatric clinicians, an ACB score ≥ 4 can be considered the cut-off to identify high-risk populations who may benefit from the evaluation of anticholinergic burden with the ACB scale.
