About one-sixth of epileptic patients reported adverse drug effects. Adverse drug effects were more commonly seen in patients with low educational status, increased number of antiepileptic drugs, absence of seizure during last follow-up and last year, and 1-5 seizures for the last year. So clinicians should give emphasis for patients with these characteristics to counsel on how to minimize or prevent adverse drug events from antiepileptic drugs or giving reassurance about it if it is minor.
