The findings highlight the importance for nurse managers to promote positive transition experiences through the modification of existing support programmes and organizational cultures. To further enhance the nurses' retention within primary care, it is imperative for nurse educators and policy makers to revise the nursing curricula, primary care nursing career framework and recruitment campaigns at the national level. This brings clarity to the misconceptions in the roles and expectations required of nurses in primary care.
