. Loss of OpgH causes asymmetric cell bulging and lysis via misregulation of the localization and activity of morphogenetic complexes. Because cell envelope integrity is critical for bacterial survival, understanding how OpgH activity contributes to morphogenesis could aid in the development of antibiotic therapies.
