Blood Thiamine Level and Cognitive Function in Older Hospitalized Patients.

Despite the absence of thiamine deficiency, whole blood thiamine was lower in patients with dementia and delirium compared to those without. Higher thiamine levels were significantly associated with functional recovery during hospitalization.
