Recent trends of open surgery for acute type A aortic dissection in Japan.

The number of operations for type A aortic dissection has increased, and hospital mortality has improved. Although the early results after surgery for type A aortic dissection are acceptable, new strategies to improve early outcomes in patients with preoperative comorbidities are required.
